Need YP/UTS/Weld Chemistry A283D HR PL (Lb-in units)

Need YP/UTS/Weld Chemistry A283D HR PL (Lb-in units)

Need YP/UTS/Weld Chemistry A283D HR PL (Lb-in units)

(OP)
Must determine structural suitability of A283D spec'd steel bars, knowing A283D is a good boiler/pressure-vessel steel but not knowing its structural characteristics for spanning HEAVY loads as a bar.
I wish to substitute A36-50, and do not know if it is a suitable match. EOR refuses to say, dumping it off on me, the fabricator's staff to "certify" A36-50 will comply".
Does anyone have readily at hand the UTS/YP/Weld data on A283D for me?

RE: Need YP/UTS/Weld Chemistry A283D HR PL (Lb-in units)

Yes. Look at ASTM A 283 specification -

UTS min 60 Ksi
Yield Point min  33 Ksi

This material is very weldable using standard fusion welding processes.

If you need mechanical property values at higher temperature go to ASME B&PV Code, Section II, Part D, Table U and Y-1 and look for SA 283 Grade D.
