(OP)
I'm trying to model a simple plate in tension with a uniform load along one edge of the plate.  I'm having trouble getting the uniform load along one edge of the plate only.  I was trying to model this with the trapezoidal plate load option but it wants to place the load around the perimeter of the plate.  Any ideas how to accomplish this?  Thanks,

forsythr88,

use dummy lines. be sure to zero the value of density. =)

In a pure sense, there is no load item that will apply a uniformly distributed line load to the edge of a plate.  You can approximate it by meshing finely and applying nodal loads along the edge.
