ANSI D1.1 v CSA W59

ANSI D1.1 v CSA W59

ANSI D1.1 v CSA W59

(OP)
I am working on a SOW for a Canadian customer, but they require all welding to CSA w59.

Our guys are certified to ANSI D1.1. Can anyone tell me what the major differences are, besides the fact that one is Canadian and one is American?

Thanks in advance!!

RE: ANSI D1.1 v CSA W59

I have worked in Canadian shops for 40 yrs and AWS D1.1 is always considered the same as CWB W59. I am not familiar with ANSI D1.1 but I think they are the same. We always have the opposite problem with 90% of our work shipped to the US everyone questions the Canadian standards to see if they are the same and I have never had a job that was a problem.

Will you be using tig, mig, or shick? :)
