Removal of hydrogen and methane from argon

Removal of hydrogen and methane from argon

Does any one know if we can remove Hydrogen and methane by the means of wet scrubber from Argon.
Thanks

RE: Removal of hydrogen and methane from argon

I would guess that your best bet would be to raise the pressure up until the argon condensed and you could bleed off the liquid. The other choice would be a membrane but you would have to look around to find one for your application.

RE: Removal of hydrogen and methane from argon

This would be a bit complex but you could take your gas stream and combust it.  You'd get water and CO2 which you could remove in a pH controlled wet scrubber.

RE: Removal of hydrogen and methane from argon

Since H2 boils at -430, CH4 -258 and Ar -302, seperating would be tough via cryogenics.  Your best bet is mole sieves or a membrane.

Thank you all for your replies.
I am now looking at membrane separation for the purpose.
