Hi,

I am having trouble with a DECS-125 Basler regulator on an alternator. The AVR was installed some couple of years ago and have since then worked trouble free. When the machine is excited, all the leds on the front panel light ON. We only managed to bring the excitation back after several attempts. I have contacted the african agent but without much success.  I am seeking help from knowledgeable guys on this product.

Thanks davidbeach for the link, though still no reply from any of them.

RE: AVR

Have you tried hooking up to it with Bestcomms?  The software is a free download from Basler and usually takes a straight serial cable.  The menus are easy to navigate and the monitoring page has a display of the alarms and status.

Usually I've found the DECS regulators to be very good, sometimes intial setup can be a challenge.  Have seen a few have problems after a fault on the control power input.  Also have had issues with the older DECS 15 regulaors failing the field output if the field opende under load.

Hope that helps.
