Structured Slab Bank Protection

Structured Slab Bank Protection

Structured Slab Bank Protection

(OP)
I'm looking at bank reinforcement using large riprap and the contractor has suggested a structured slab held in place with large spreadbored piles to accommodate vertical load as well as possible uplift.  The installation is saturated and subject to substantial freezing conditions (-40C).

Is anyone aware of a similar installation of a structured slab? If so, how is uplift due to freezing accommodated? plastic voidform?

RE: Structured Slab Bank Protection

I would recommend consulting with a geotechnical engineer before taking any further steps on this project.

RE: Structured Slab Bank Protection

I think once your contractor sees the price of this structural concrete slab, he may decide that riprap is a better way to go.
