Large Assembly Mode (Best Practices for Group Working)

Large Assembly Mode (Best Practices for Group Working)

(OP)
Hello all,
I will be working on an existing very large assembly project within a group where different people will be assigned different areas to work on (making changes and updates).  I have done this in the past when I was the only one working on the project but not with multiple "hands in the pie" at the same time.  What tips can you offer to make the project go smooth for everyone.  I believe we will be using PDMWorks as well.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
BB

RE: Large Assembly Mode (Best Practices for Group Working)

Use collaboration mode.  Be sure to ue the setting that forces all components to open read-only.  Take write-access to a file only when you are actively making changes, the return to read-only.  Bludgeon anyone who does not comply.

RE: Large Assembly Mode (Best Practices for Group Working)

Create a top level 'skeleton' consisting of planes, axes and sketches within a 'dummy' part. The elements should define all the interfaces and physical space required by each of the different areas being worked on. That part can then be used by all users as the master layout.

Hi Tick and CBL,
Thanks for your input.  I will do my best to implement and adhere to as recommended.
