Polycarbonate Waiting booth

Polycarbonate Waiting booth

Polycarbonate Waiting booth

(OP)
I'm designing a waiting booth (for on a train station) with cruved backplates and roof. I chose polycarbonate as the material for these because of its strength and transparency. The problem hwoever is that it's not scratch and uv resistant standard. I was wondering where I could find the price of scratch and uv resistant coated PC sheet.
Also, would hardened safety glass be an option for the back plates? I'm not sure about the cost of curved glass.

Thanks for your time,

Max

RE: Polycarbonate Waiting booth

Curved glass is not that hard to find if you have the funds.
I would stay with PC if at all possible for CMA reasons in today's legal climate.

Here is some information on PC greenhouse sheeting as well as Architectural grade. Take a look at the corrugated material. I've seen booths covered in it. Also look at coating service offered by Optiglass.

Before you count Acrylic out you might take a look at the Spartech materials. They have UV filtering and UV transmiting materials.

If you still decide on Polycarb, GE has a couple materials that filter IR:

RE: Polycarbonate Waiting booth

You can easily find a price for polycarbonate that is scratch and/or UV resistant.

Just use google yourself and save us the trouble of doing it for you. That way you can also find a supplier in your local area which to date is not disclosed to us

RE: Polycarbonate Waiting booth

There is a product called mar-gard that should help. They use it in signs, lenses and headlight covers. I was told that it is a silicon based product, but that could be totally off.
