County of Los Angeles Allowable Shear Limitations

County of Los Angeles Allowable Shear Limitations

County of Los Angeles Allowable Shear Limitations

(OP)
County of Los Angeles does not allow more than 200 lbs./ft for 3/8" like the CBC allows.  PC'r told me to refer to the County's code book, which I do not own and as an architect who doesn't do a lot for engineering don't want one.

Does anyone have the County of Los Angeles' allowable shear loads table I can get for a correction?

Hey, Thanks but I found code, now just need to adjust my SP Sched

RE: County of Los Angeles Allowable Shear Limitations

I guess I'm just getting too old.  I don't know what the hell you are talking about.  Allowable shear limitations?  200 pounds per foot for 3/8"?  What is that all about?

And secondly, what is your SP Sched?  Would you be totally offended if I asked you to translate all of that into English?

I think he is talking about shear wall allowable load for 3/8" plywood.

curtschultz, should should be able to find the latest copy of the LA County Code in a Library such as the Los Angeles Public Library or the Los Angeles Law Library.
