NX I-Deas Compiled Version for Windows 7

NX I-Deas Compiled Version for Windows 7

(OP)
Now that Windows 7 is here and some of us will be running Ideas and UGNX in parallel connected to Teamcenter Engineering for quite a while longer, the question is being asked about Ideas for Windows 7. Specifically Ideas 7 for Windows 7. Can not find anything on Siemens GTAC or from those on the phone at the helpdesk. Anyone have any reliable information?

RE: NX I-Deas Compiled Version for Windows 7

I would say that if you don't see it approved on GTAC, then don't use it or at least be aware that you are taking certain risks by installing a non-certified O/S.  That might be about as reliable as you can get at this point in time.

In the meantime it might be wise to check into graphics drivers for Win7, if they are even available yet.  No use in changing O/S if you cannot find drivers yet.

There were some issues for quite a while when Vista first came out and my advice to anyone that was considering a move to a brand new O/S that is less than a year old would be to wait another few months (6 minimum) or even a year and see what other users that couldn't wait are saying or see what issues they are having.

Some people are like slinkies....they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
