Detail view not visible when HLR mode is selected

Detail view not visible when HLR mode is selected

Detail view not visible when HLR mode is selected

(OP)
I am not able to view a detail view of a section I had previously created. The dimensions are visible but the part is not.

The part becomes visible when I select the shaded view, but the whole part shows up, not just the detail.

I have tried rebuilding Ctrl+Q and closing the part and opening. Nothing helps.

Thanks.

RE: Detail view not visible when HLR mode is selected

SW version and SP?
Graphics card and Driver?

Check for shaded detail view in the SW Knowledge Base.

Quote (S-036414):

This issue has been identified and assigned to SPR 482569 (Model geometry is shown outside of bounding box when creating a shaded detail view of this part).  It occurs when the parent view is shaded or shaded with edges.

A possible workaround is to toggle the display style for the new detail view to a non-shaded style such as HLR and back to shaded or shaded with edges.  Then, the geometry will be shown within the detail view bounding box.
