Selecting sliding bearings for large roof.

Selecting sliding bearings for large roof.

(OP)
Pals

Roof span 60m (200ft) by trusses on RC columns
Cheaper solution :PTFE plates or PTFE/Stainless combination
More expensive solution: neoprene pads

Problem: PTFE do not bond easily, tough to detail.

What would you recommend? A little discussion please

RE: Selecting sliding bearings for large roof.

I would prefer any solution that allowing for your structural intent would prevent dislocation of the joint under any foreseeable circumnstance, having all the structura stops and guards required. Even if secondary structural members may prevent a localized failure by lack of support this is the main danger I see with this kind of disposition (and with most significant "simple" supports). Hence for 60 m spans I wouldn't be as concerned as much (within reasonable measure) cost of the details but its overall whole life of the building reliability.

RE: Selecting sliding bearings for large roof.

Have you looked at Fluorogold slide bearings?  There's one other that's not coming to mind right now.

Fabreeka is the other one.
