Blocked well

Blocked well

Blocked well

(OP)
I'm thinking of ways to clear a blocked well.  The well should be 107 feet, and there was 90 feet of pipe pulled 20 days ago, but the sounder is only showing 63 feet.  This has been verified by the hole camera.  On camera you can see the pin hit the block and it seems to be very solid.

How would you clear a blocked well pipe?
-use a smaller pipe (with teeth cut into the end) inside the well pipe to try and grind the blockage

-use high pressusre water to try and dislodge some stuff

-shoot it with a gun

-your ideas here

RE: Blocked well

I would call some local well drillers and get their opinion.  I have seen well drillers take a bit about 1/2" smaller than that of the well casing and continue drilling a well to a deeper depth. I don't know why this cannot be done for your situation.

RE: Blocked well

I once read of a specialty danish contractor that went under the see near to 1000 m within say 6 m diameter, 5 cm thick pipe of some offshore pile to push to round shape a plastically deformed section of the buried pipe. He had its own designed jack to push ummmmpffff and the pipe was restored to shape. Hence maybe there exist the same thing for small casings, some hydraulically operated jacks. Usually these things exist, but are not available.

It is difficult to provide good advice without correct knowledge of the process followed. It seems you had the casing removed, hence you may start as anew with whatever the method that ensures you in the end will have the fruit of your effort.

RE: Blocked well

It all depends on the well.

What is the well diameter?

What type of formation is the well drilled into?

Is the well cased?

If the formation has collapsed, you may have to case and grout in the location of the collapse.
