I am getting this error in PDMW SW2009 SP 3.0. The PDMW log says: "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"

The vault, server and client are all running on the same machine.

The vault validates OK and I reinstalled the PDMW server.

I created a test file, checked it in, and cannot check it out because of the same error.

This question has popped up on the SW fora and in the SW knowledgebase, but no definitive answers were ever posted. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: "Error retrieving <part name> from the server" PDMW

Have you tried moving the vault and server, just to see if it makes a difference. It will run on the same machine as the client, I've done it before, but at least it's a starting step to trouble shooting.

Thanks for the response. I did get it to work. I reinstalled a newer service pack.

BTW the error is a Winsock2 error which says that something can't talk to something else because it is being blocked.
