Minimum specified distance between two welding joints

Minimum specified distance between two welding joints

Minimum specified distance between two welding joints

(OP)
Hi guys!
I have a toris. head having cladding ring on the taper. The distance between welding line of cladding ring to shell-head welding line is 0.315 in. Head thickness 0.188 in and Shell thickness is 0.105 in. Material is As 240-304.
My question is " Is there any code limitation that specifies that minimum distance should be 3* shell or head thickness?? or something like that" what we have in australia standard.
Thanks
Tejash

RE: Minimum specified distance between two welding joints

No, there is not specific limitation in ASME;- use the AS 1210 limitations and nominate the AS code for reference.
Cheers,
