Air changes

(OP)
Greetings,

I have been asked recently to determine the exhaust and return air changes for several areas in my hospital. Would the formula for determining these changes be the same as for determining supply air changes (Air changes per hour = CFM*60/Volume where cfm is the air flow rate (cubic feet per minute)and the volume is the volume (cubic feet) of the room)?

Thanks

RE: Air changes

You are correct.
  (cu.ft.*60/hr)/(cu.ft./a.c.)equivalent to a.c./hr

RE: Air changes

Then you will compare those number to the AIA guidelines, and see if they are sufficient.  Also see if your state has stricter guidelines.  My state's Dept of Public Health does
