digital timer/counter

digital timer/counter

digital timer/counter

(OP)
i plan to control urinal systems with solenoid valves in a school but i need to find a good programmable timer that i could use to input flush cycles to open and close valve. 2 per hour during the week days. maybe one at night. 2 saturday and sunday. I suppose a 7 day timer is what im looking for? but could i get one that i could set for summer holidays as well? i.e. a yearly timer if something exists?
Could some one send me a link to a supplier ?

RE: digital timer/counter

Most of the new "Smart Relays" like the Siemens LOGO have real time clocks, and all the timers and counters you could use. They will likely cost you the same as a single good time clock anyway.

I would hate to be in the time clock business now...

RE: digital timer/counter

I may date myself, but back in the 70's there was a design competition (IEEE I think)for a new microprocessor use. The winner was controlling  toilets in large buildings.  A big joke at the time to many.  Still, the basic issues were very sound.  Here we are 30 years later and we are only beginning to make inroads with this technology.

RE: digital timer/counter

I got exactly that question from a customer today. But it wasn't spooling, instead it was about starting a pump at half speed and full speed. He was willing to pay development from scratch. He needed a few thousand timers a year so it wasn't too bad for him.

I prototyped a LOGO! system for him while we were talking. Also with reduced activity during holidays. He went for the LOGO! solution.
