Femap Line element offsets disappearing

Femap Line element offsets disappearing

(OP)
Has anyone had this problem?  I'm trying to use beam and shell elements to model stiffened sheet, and after I finally manage to offset my stiffeners, they revert to the neutral axis position, i.e. the section's neutral axis appears to have moved back to the beam element meah location.

Any ideas?

RE: Femap Line element offsets disappearing

Hello!,
I use FEMAP V10.1 normally with offsets in Shells & Beams and I have not experienced this type of error before.
Best regards,
Blas.

RE: Femap Line element offsets disappearing

Hi

What version of Femap do you use. I don't work a lot with offsets but I've never seen this problem. Is it "only" visual ir does it effect the data (solver) file also.

Regards

Thomas

Gents,

I did't realize that I needed to check the "Show Offsets" in the F6 - View Options - Elements Offsets/Releases.

I can now get it to do whatever I want!

Thanks for the responses, guys.
