A rule of thumb for pier labelling of shearwall.

Is there any difference in the design output by assigning pier label  for C or E shape wall in different manner? For example, in the first case, assigning each wall leg with distinct pier label. This should make easy for reading design output on the screen.

In the latter case, assign a single pier label to the whole wall section. Since the way the pier label to be assigned doesn't affect to the analysis result, I don't think this makes any difference. What's your opinion?

RE: A rule of thumb for pier labelling of shearwall.

Yes, it shouldn't affect any analysis results. Pier labelling is mainly for design purposes.
