Insert Pull Out

Insert Pull Out

(OP)
Hi Guys

Does anyone know where I can get the data sheets to find the Insert Pullout strength through the Honeycomb panel with composite facing skins, ESA document is currently under review.

Thanks in advance

RE: Insert Pull Out

Strength will depend on the specific:
- insert
- insert bonding adhesive/potting and config
- core material and thickness
- composite skin thickness, material, layup, etc

You need to run tests on the specific configuration.

Thank you for the very useful information.

RE: Insert Pull Out

Most data is proprietary and backed with test programs, like SWC said, matching material (panel type and insert type) and and potting adhesive. Please be careful when using published data for "insert pull strength/allowables" found on the internet (even if backed by a regulating agency) because of these reasons.
