SOLIDWORKS CUT LIST ITEM PROPERTIES PROBLEM

SOLIDWORKS CUT LIST ITEM PROPERTIES PROBLEM

SOLIDWORKS CUT LIST ITEM PROPERTIES PROBLEM

(OP)
I am having some weird issues with the cut list in my Solidworks 08.

I inserted a smaller weldment part into a larger weldment. The smaller part contain 6 cut list items and larger weldment have about 20 items.

When the smaller part is OUT OF CONTEXT, the whole part appear as one item in the cut list...and the properties field for the smaller part is blank. When the smaller part is IN CONTEXT, the smaller part is broken into its 6 different item in the cut list...and the properties field for all the 6 items contain the same info.

1) Is it possible to make Solidworks to stick with either the "OUT OF CONTEXT" cut list or the "IN CONTEXT" cut list? Just need it to be one way or the other. Having the cutlist changing all the time is creating an issue.

2) When the smaller part is IN CONTEXT, the properties field for all the 6 items contain the same info but none of them can be change. The properties of the 6 pieces will need to match the rest of the items within the larger weldment, and Solidworks is not letting me change them. How can I change the properties and break the link to whatever the info is connected to?

Thanks
