Photovoltaic sizing and Insolation
Photovoltaic sizing and Insolation
(OP)
dear all,
I am reading BP sphoto voltaic specification BP380 and found at note 1 about STC (standard Tes condition). it is said that STC is conducted in 1000 W/m2 and cell temp 25 dec C to get warranty output 75 W. Efficiency is 0.12.
If in area, the insolation is 4.5 kW/m2/day and daylight hours is 12 hours. Does it means the average of irradiance is 4500/12 W/m2 (375 W/m2)? Then the actual net output is 375/1000 x 75W (28.125 W)?
Thank you for your enlightment.

I'd agree.
1200mm x 530mm = 0.636m2
375W/m2 x 0.636m2 x 0.12 = 28.6W
Seem to agree.
It's probably a lousy idea to make those Average generalizations though.

The BP380 is rated 80W, so you might get a little more. Don't forget to account for losses like voltage drop and inverter efficiency.
