RE: Steel Lattice transmission tower design

Get ASCE 10 and go to PLS-CADD's web site at www.powline.com to see some programs that do the analysis.  They have about 90% market share in the industry.  The University of Wisconsin has some courses.

It is a very specialized area of engineering and anyone that uses single angles in compression has to be a little crazy.  The strength to weight ratio for lattice towers is the highest possible.
