Object as Light source Issues

Object as Light source Issues

(OP)
Hi All,

I've been playing with the Lighting Appearances and emissivity settings as of late and I noticed something that was bugging me when I was working on a rendering for the current render contest.

If I render a scene with the taillight (Appearance is Red Neon) set as a light source I get shadowing on the entire floor. However if I switch off the taillight as a light source I get a much nicer shadowing on the floor. How do I get the taillight reflection from the Left image with the floor shadowing on the right?

Thanks

Ah the glory of cut and paste.

I'll try it out on a few different systems to see what happens.

I take it you're using PV360, right?  Definitely looks like a bug, since I don't know why else the rest of the scene would be modified with such a setting.

Maybe try PhotoWorks?  Of course the whole look/feel would be significantly different than what you've got started there.

Sorry Jeff it's Photoworks.

I'll try it in 360 to see what that does.
