HTRI warning message information, please help

HTRI warning message information, please help

HTRI warning message information, please help

(OP)
Hi,
I ran a case HTRI in HTRI using EM baffle type.
It gave me one warning message:
"number of crosspasses/shell pass: X and K shells, unbaffled exchangers, EM, and Rod Baffles only have one crosspass. Set equal to 1."

Is anyone know what this mean? As far as I know, I already changed everything that have "pass" (shellpass, tubepass) to 1

I attach the HTRI file. please check on it

thank you

RE: HTRI warning message information, please help

One would have to have HTRI installed to help you.  Sorry, but I don't have HTRI on this laptop (personal).  I'll try it again from my day job laptop if I can remember.

RE: HTRI warning message information, please help

For TEMA X-shells and K-shells, the shell-side flow is essentially entirely transverse to the tubes, so you needn't specify anything under "number of crosspasses."

Similarly, for EM or Rod baffles (as well as for Twisted Tubes), the shell-side flow is essentially longitudinal to the exchanger, so there are no crosspasses. Leave that portion of the input blank or set it to 1.

Siekkwangcin,

I don't have the HTRI program to view you data.  However, one possible problem is that you have a temperature cross with an exchanger with a single pass on each side.  That would certainly cause an error.

I've never seen an exchanger with both a floating head backing device and a floating head tailpipe. I'm not saying they don't exist, but I've never heard of such an exchanger.

I don't think you'll be able to find a vendor to build a one-pass TEMA S exchanger.
