Selecting The Midpoint Of Any Sketched Line

Selecting The Midpoint Of Any Sketched Line

Selecting The Midpoint Of Any Sketched Line

(OP)
Learning CATIA V5R18,

I would like to know, how to select the midpoint of any sketched line, whether it's on its own or part of another geometry?

Any response will be greatly appreciated!

RE: Selecting The Midpoint Of Any Sketched Line

If you are in Sketch mode, one way is to use equidistant point. When you enter 1 point, it will be in the middle (equidistant) of the line selected, along with a distance constrant. Any line from any part can be projected 1st, and then the point installed. The point should be a contruction element.

You mean I physically have too create a point as a geometry and snap it to the middle of line?

The line doesn't automatically have a midpoint on it like it has endpoints once it's sketched?

RE: Selecting The Midpoint Of Any Sketched Line

You only need two points to describe a line. I remember when working with UG that it had the midpoint option but many things are different... why don't you describe what you want to do and maybe we can guide you how to do it Catia.

RE: Selecting The Midpoint Of Any Sketched Line

Right click over most geometries will provide you the contextual menu when in generate point (line, circle etc) mode containing the option midpoint.
