"Oscillation" in PQR/ QW-482

"Oscillation" in PQR/ QW-482

"Oscillation" in PQR/ QW-482

(OP)
In ASME Section IX, the PQR form in QW-482 includes one blank for "String or Weave Bead" and another blank for "Oscillation".  What is supposed to go in that oscillation blank?  Is that a number, or "Yes", or some specific technique?  Is it even applicable to manual or semiautomatic welding?  Or does it only relate to some sort of automatic oscillation, as opposed to a manual weave?

RE: "Oscillation" in PQR/ QW-482

automatic oscillation.

for overlay mostly or coulb be one of these new fangled automatic robotic welds

RE: "Oscillation" in PQR/ QW-482

depends on the type of welding where the machine  capable of ''oscillation''
so if you set your machine to oscillation, you will enter yes or if not, no or
if  none (I do not think that can be an n/a)

Refer to QW-410.7 for background information pertaining to machine or automatic welding process. A simple yes, if applicable, will do.

JStephen,
Try QW/QB-492 Definitions.
"oscillation" is only for a machine or automatic process. "weave bead" for a manual or semi-automatic process.
