Aluminum Alloy L102

Aluminum Alloy L102

Aluminum Alloy L102

(OP)
I am quoting an aerospace fitting that has a material
callout of "Aluminum Alloy L102" in 2.5"Dia. bar. Does
anyone know of a possible source? Is there a similar material that is more availble? Thanks

RE: Aluminum Alloy L102

Try the designation 2014 instead of L 102.  This is a very common alloy for producing parts, especially rivets.

RE: Aluminum Alloy L102

I can confirm that L102 is indeed a UK aerospace spec for 2014A T4 and T451 bar and extruded section. Strictly speaking L102 is obsolescent.

It is an update of the older but probably more widely recognised (and even more obsolescent) L64.

Element  Min %  Max %
Si       0.5    0.9
Cu       3.9    5.0
Mn       0.4    1.2
Mg       0.2    0.8

British Standard L102 has more. It should be available for about £30.
