Dear all,

Can someone please explain the below warnings? Im doing dynamic impact scenario with 2d composite shell..

***WARNING: For surface S_CONTACT, some facets have an offset which is greater
than one-half times an edge or diagonal length of the facet (for
example, the offset is 2.5609 times the element size for the facet
on parent  element 2401). This surface may be poorly defined  near
any angles or corners in the surface.

***WARNING: For contact surface S_CONTACT, some facets are thicker than 0.6
times an edge or diagonal length of the facet (for example, the
thickness is 5.12174 times the element size for the facet on
parent element 2393). This may lead to unstable contact involving
the bull-nose extension on the surface perimeter, which could be
avoided by using the MAXRATIO parameter on *SURFACE.

RE: warning

It looks like your contact is taking into account the thickness of the shells.  You probably have a very small mesh compared to the thickness of the shells.  You might want to mesh more coarse or reconsider the use of shells.  I hope this helps.
