Firewall / virus scanning slowing down preformance

Firewall / virus scanning slowing down preformance

(OP)
Dear all,

does anyone have experience with which virus-scanning software is slowing down TCE and UG preformance?

At our factory the system admin has excluded the ugraf.exe from scanning by Mcafee, with some improvement.

But I want to know if any of you uses Norton 360, f-secure, bullguard, etc... and if has influence on the preformance?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Michäël.

RE: Firewall / virus scanning slowing down preformance

From what you're describing it shouldn't do, but you mentioned Teamcenter and I do recall that in running SAP accounting at the same time as Teamcenter and through a shared gateway we once had a problem with traffic being misidentified by the firewall and greatly slowed as a consequence. I would start by making sure all the TCE and NX processes are cleared by the firewall and then hunt down any possible conflicts. I think the way to eliminate certain conflicts is to determine what ports they use and if necessary configure them to use different ports.

Best Regards
