Storage Tank Splicing Question

Storage Tank Splicing Question

Storage Tank Splicing Question

(OP)
Hi Everyone,

I am designing a precast concrete storage tank.  My approach is to design a box culvert and then design two capping walls on each end.  The walls will be capped using dayton superior splicing systems.

Anyone know a good procedure to calculate which bar splicer I should use?  I'm thinking about taking the max moments from the walls of the box culvert and matching this up with a dayton products.  This sound about right?

Thanks!  Erik

RE: Storage Tank Splicing Question

Sounds right if the named products are able to so perform (I living in Spain don't know them) and of course your thicknesses allow for proper placement for such performance.
