Modulus of Elasticity - PT Cable

Modulus of Elasticity - PT Cable

Modulus of Elasticity - PT Cable

(OP)
Hello,
What is the formula for calculating Modulus of Elasticity for post tension cables. I tried stress over strain but the value is not consistent with normal values.

Load, lb - 42950
Area - .154
Change in Length - 1.75 in
Original Length - 24 in

RE: Modulus of Elasticity - PT Cable

It won't be, since wire rope is formed from twisted strands.  You should have effective modulus values lower than the equivalent solid material by a factor of 10x or more.
