I've designed a heat exchanger, performed the calcs and saved. I want to go back and "edit" some areas. Some of the cells I want to change I have to do it by going to the actual "Heat Exchanger" tab that lists the design conditions. What isn't shown in the tabs is EXTERNAL PRESSURE. That cell is locked on each component tab and it isn't indicated in the general tab. How can I revise the EXT. PRESS. requirement short of doing a complete redesign?

Okay, now I think I understand after a discussion with a third party.
It seems that you want to change the external design pressure applied to some particular component. Of course, the internal and external pressure fields are "locked" when the component design dialogs are edited; you must edit the design conditions in the heat exchanger design dialog.
COMPRESS determines the "internal" and "external" design pressures for each component based on the worst case as found from the design cases 1 through 8 that can be specified. Thus to change the design pressure for any particular component you must edit the design pressures defined in the heat exchanger dialog.
I trust that you did not do a complete redesign. Of course, questions like these may be best directed to Codeware directly where you can get an almost-immediate response.

Tom, Thanks for the input. I believe I understand now how to change the Ext. Press. Whether I want to change the design conditions or not, the fields still have to be edited in order to change the Ext. Press. requirements. A complete new design was not done, but I will try your suggestion.
