Slipway pull

(OP)
thread218-184289: Artificial reef

We are having slipway with slope 1:14 and we want to pull a vessel weighing 100 tons weight.
The vessel is mounted on two trolleys having four wheels.
Pl let us know what should be the winch capacity to pull this vessel.

RE: Slipway pull

Ok.
If the vessel is pulled on the slipway, then :
Slope = Atan (1/14) = 4.08°
Rolling factor = 0.1
P=100T = 100000DAN
F = (100000*cos4.08*0.1)+(100000*sin4.08)
F=17090DAN = 18Tons = minimal winch capacity.
I hope this result will help you.
