Chevy Bel Air vs 2009 Chevy Malibu

Chevy Bel Air vs 2009 Chevy Malibu

(OP)
This is a video of the IIHS offset crash test of a 1959 Chevy Bel Air and a 2009 Chevy Malibu.
For those who would rather have that old "solid" car instead of one of these new things that fall apart on impact
and require $5000 worth of work to put them back on the road after a fender bender.
Just remember, that car can be replaced. Can your legs, or chest, or can you even imagine living in a wheelchair for the rest of your life?
And it doesn't take into account the accident avoidance equipment that might prevent this from happening in the first place, or the gas mileage, performance or reliability improvements or the fact that today's cars, with all this, cost less in real dollars (% of income) than those in 1959.
Remarkable achievements.
Thank you Engineers.
