Can you install service pack 4 without having sp1, sp2, or sp3 installed in SW's. Or are they required?

RE: SW Update

If you use the SW Installation Manager, it will download whatever is needed, from whichever SP is installed.

RE: SW Update

Short answer is no, they are not required. You can go straight from 0.0 to 4.1 without going through the packs in between.

RE: SW Update

Long answer is:  SW service packs are cumulative.  If you download the service pack manually, you will be required to input what service pack you are upgrading from/to.  So the download will be configured specifically for you.  As CBL mentioned, the Installation Manager detects and does this automatically.

RE: SW Update

If you work at a Large Company and have people using different Service Packs, I'd suggest using the download only option and selecting from 0.0 and download all the files necessary for the update.

This way no matter what SP a user has installed on a machine or for machines that need the install can use the same files for Installation. It will be a larger download but you'll have all the needed files on one Network directory so everyone can use them. You'll also avoid having to Install SP2.1 so you can then patch it from SP2.1-SP5

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will now install SP4.1.
