modelling how do you solve the problem?

(OP)
We have moved from nx4 to nx6. My experiences are more in older  UG versions. Up to Nx6 a lot of things improved. I have attached a example to create to open an existing pocket by 5° . Up to now I'm creating an tool body to solve this problem. How do you solve those problems? Any other technics?
Ideas? thx in ad

RE: modelling how do you solve the problem?

I took the 'mold' part (which was provided in Parasolid format) and using the Synchronous Modeling tools, I first removed (using Delete Face and the Selection Intent rule of 'Connected Blend Faces') the 0.200mm Blends, then added an additional 5° of Draft and finally created a new set of 0.200mm Blends (I've attached the modified file (in NX 6.0 format).

thank you John,
is there a workflow without removing the blends ?
thx

RE: modelling how do you solve the problem?

For situations like this, this IS the recommended workflow.  That's why a Synchronous Modeling tool such as 'Delete Face', coupled with the special Selection Intent option of 'Connected Blend Faces', was implemented in NX.

When the model has no features, meaning that you can NOT edit the model parametrically, yet it has blended edges, the recommended workflow is to first remove the blends which adjoin the faces which need to be edited, make the needed modifications and then reapply the blends.
