Can anyone point me towards a good Photoworks book or material?

Can anyone point me towards a good Photoworks book or material?

Can anyone point me towards a good Photoworks book or material?

(OP)
I have worked with different rendering programs including  3dsstudio(max), but for some reason I find Photoworks slow, confusing and hard to learn. The part that really gets to me is lighting. The lighting is just awful. The materials process is simple, but I guess it really comes down to messing with lights forever, and still not finding anything that even comes close. Anyway, thats more of a rant. Is there a tutorial (besides the standard SWORKS ) that can help me out? Also, we are about to upgrade from 2007 to 2010. Is 2010 photoworks pretty much the exact same thing as 2007? Any help or tips or tricks (settings) would be a tremendous help. thanks

RE: Can anyone point me towards a good Photoworks book or material?

Rob Rodriguez's website will be a plethora of info: http://robrodriguez.com/wordpress/ , and I'm sure his books on the subject are top notch.  There is also a tips and trick presentation here: www.triaxialdesign.com.  The upgrade from '07 to '10 will be substantial.  The '10 release will be the beginning of the end for PhotoWorks since the new standard is PhotoView360 which was released with '09.  PV360 is pretty simplistic as it stands right now, but it is supposed to have the same functionality of PW by '11: http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/CustomerBulletins.html.  I'm not sure I buy it, but there you go.

I use PV360 most of the time these days. It's nowhere near as powerfull as PhotoWorks, but it's so simple to get decent results. Like Dan says, PhotoWorks is out for 2011, so I wouldn't bother investing too much time into it
