Element Release - Plate Elements

Element Release - Plate Elements

Element Release - Plate Elements

(OP)
Hi friends,
Just wonder if any of you has any experience applying "ELEMENT RELEASE" command to release one or more degrees of freedom at the corner nodes of the elements?

Appreciate if you could upload a sample

Kind regards
Bill

RE: Element Release - Plate Elements

There are two items to keep track of with ELEMENT RELEASE:

1. It specifies releases w.r.t. the plate local axis system, so use SHIFT+T to turn on plate orientation and be sure to understand the local axis system of the plate(s) for which you are specifying releases.

2. It refers to the nodes in order of their incidences around the plate, so use the Plates Table or Plate Query function to identify the first, second, third, and fourth nodes of a quad plate.
