solidworks Volume calc

Does any one know is solidworks has the capability to calculate the volume of an part or assembly?

thanks

RE: solidworks Volume calc

Appologies not the volume of the part but the volume of the air gap between two components in an assembly.

Thanks

RE: solidworks Volume calc

Create a solid of the "air gap" and then measure it.

Its between a PCB and a metal frame on top of it.  You can imagine creating a solid for pcb will be difficult and also the frame has many profiles that will be difficult too.

RE: solidworks Volume calc

Although several steps could be involved, it is easier than you think.

Save the PCB and frame as a part.
Create a solid body (not merged) around that part.
Use the Combine function to remove the PCB/frame part.

Or you might be able to use the Cavity function in a new assy.

I will have a go at the combine function.

Thanks

Have you tried using the "indent" feature? that might be of use
