code checks with cadre
code checks with cadre
(OP)
We use cadre and find it a very usefull program. But does anyone have any recommendations as far as completing code check AISC on the model results.
Any recommendation would be appreciated, we currently use spreadsheets but it is a tedious task sorting out the reactions moments etc for each member then manually using the spreadsheet. Are there other software available to help? I am in Canada so it would be usefull to be able to check to various codes.
Thanks in Advance
Mark

RE: code checks with cadre
At first I liked Cadre and when compared to the FEA program I used for years it was a very robust analysis and well thought out software, except for one aspect. It doesn't handle multiple load cases very well. When you look at the number of load possibilities per the equations in the IBC as well as the orthogonality of wind and seismic loads, Cadre becomes unworkable and unsuited for my kind of work in my opinion.
I currently use Multiframe which supports a very complete export feature which then gets input to Mathematica.

I have been playing with the multiframe demo and find it very easy to work with. With respect to Cadre I find that the current version is very easy to build the different load cases , the only problem is there is so much data in the output to deal with.

Not that I'd recommend that route for anyone else, it was considerable work.
