Miniature hydraulic cylinders, accumulators and actuators
Miniature hydraulic cylinders, accumulators and actuators
(OP)
Hello Everyone,
I am working to design a hydraulically powered prosthetic leg and am looking for miniature hydraulic cylinders, accumulators and actuators which can be potentially used in the design. I have searched a lot but could only find large and heavy components with electric drives. I want to use only the components which can be only body powered. Can anyone help me where can I find these? I am new to this forum and apologize for my bad english.

If you ever want to consider pneumatics Clippard is good place to start.

Although hydraulics have a good power to weight ratio in large systems, in small scale the weight of the structure to withstand the high pressure I think would dominate.
Off the top of my head, metal bellows might be another lead for actuators.
Best of luck

If you would post the bore size, rod size and stroke it would help. To help with the accumulator knowing the working pressure range and volume is required. You may be able to incorporate the accumulator into the leg structure if round tube is used.
The fluid you chose could impact the seal material choice so you will need to provide that information vendors up front.
