Coefficient of friction between steel and concrete??

Coefficient of friction between steel and concrete??

(OP)
Can anyone tell me what the coefficient of friction between steel and concrete is.  Many thanks in advance for this information.

RE: Coefficient of friction between steel and concrete??

The only figure that I have seen documented is 0.5 (specified in the Australian Bridge Desigb Code).

I have used that (with a reasonable safety factor) for designing temporary support brackets stressed onto bridge piers etc, and so far it has worked for me.

RE: Coefficient of friction between steel and concrete??

ACI 318 Section 11.7.4.3 gives the coefficient of friction for several conditions.
