Mechanical Design Codes
Mechanical Design Codes
(OP)
I am designing a component of a robot for the university I used to go to, I havent had experience of this type of mechanical design before (pipelines by trade). It is basically just a housing for a motor and pump- a few plates and a cylinderical housing etc. Are there any basic mechanical standards I can design this to? Thanks

RE: Mechanical Design Codes
It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Do you need to be weatherproof, splashproof, dustproof, student proof, Paris Hilton proof? How much access to you need for service? How cool must it look. How much are they willing to spend making it? Are there any heat issues?
There are standards for a lot of this stuff. There are well understood solutions for most of it.

Not a big wiki fan myself by the chart is accurate as to the charts that I have used in the past.
