Recent condenser type in vacuum tower O/H system

Recent condenser type in vacuum tower O/H system

Recent condenser type in vacuum tower O/H system

(OP)
Re the vacuum tower having O/H condenser designed and installed by fixed type cooling water cooler to prevent leakage from atmosphere to system, several questions are raised as below.

1)Fixed type O/H condenser is very difficult to clean
outside tube during T/A period. So, we are considering
general type of exchangers(such as AES type) to make
  clean easy. Please comment.
2)Is there any recent up-to-date exchanger to have good
vacuum during entire operating period ?

3)Other comments to be awared to keep good vacuum always.
  end.

RE: Recent condenser type in vacuum tower O/H system

AES is not good option for high vacuum applications. Pressure drop is unacceptable. Tema X shell (crossflow) is considered as standard overhead condenser type in vacuum towers.

RE: Recent condenser type in vacuum tower O/H system

In recent projects I have seen AXU/AXS and AEU/AES (at higher pressures).

In all cases these exchanges were supplied by the ejector vendor, and their bundle layout/arrangement were different from typical exchanger, presumably to keep the pressure drop down.
