Looking into weld cracking on DA storage vessels ,seems that PWHT is recommended ,also grinding weld reinforcement flush, I can follow PWHT but not flush weld cap . any thoughts are appreciated

Why can't you blend grind the weld caps of a repair weld or flush patch plate? I would strongly recommend PWHT AND blend grind the repair welds to eliminate stress risers.
