Metal velcro has been around for some time but this is a high strength version.I'd like to see what applications develope.

Yes, very interesting.  However, after reading other articles, I believe the 35 tonnes per square meter value is deceiving - in tha, this value is correct for shear, but when in tension the value is very similar to regular Velcro.

Of course there are other benefits though - such as high temperature resistance, but that also brings about another issue - bonding - you can't simply use glue because that would burn off.
