ASME 2:1 elliptical head in Div 2 vessel

(OP)
Dear all,
While designing the vessel (Div 2, 2007)  with ASME 2:1 elliptical head, if the L/t ratio per 4.3.7.1 is lesser than 20, what kind of analysis is required to conform to part 5 ? I have a 36" OD vessel with 2" wall thickness and this ratio (L/t) comes out to be 19.16. Thanks for you input in advance.

RE: ASME 2:1 elliptical head in Div 2 vessel

PVdesigner,
The wall thickness you are using in the L/t calculation should be the minimum thickness after forming (which is less than 2"). As such, I cannot see why should you use the Part 5 analysis.
Cheers,
