Wear Plate Material
Wear Plate Material
(OP)
Hello and thank you for taking time to read the thread...I am looking for steel plate that is already fully hard/ground to 1/4" thick. like Hardox 600 or equiv., which is not available. I tried different resources but no luck.
THanks
HARDOX 600 is the worlds hardest wear plate with a hardness of 600 Brinell. It is indented specially for extreme wear conditions and competes with wear materials like high chromium white alloy castings, Ni-hards and hardfacing. In spite of its extremely high hardness, the steel is weldable and can be machined as well as thermally cut. For its hardness, the steel also has uniquely high impact strength

If you take the welding route here are some good electrodes for wear resistance.

THankf for your response I will look into the items..If I can get in the Low Rc60's, it might work...

namsco, wear plate performance is significantly affected by degree of impact versus abrasion, size and type of material, any chemical complications etc. If primarily abrasion, the chrome carbide overlay is worth looking at.
