RE: Design of 2 Phase Separators

Is it "liquids-vapour" separation or "water-condensate" separation?  (I suspect the former.)

All you really need is in GPSA and ASME VIII Div. 1.

In the huge majority of cases I have seen, it ends up being SA-516-70N and related material with the wetted surfaces often coated with an epoxy primer like Devoe 253.  The vapour outlet(s) might have a mesh pad (demister) inside the vessel, typically SA-36 angle supporting 316 SS 6#/ft^3 to 12#/ft^3 by 6" thick mesh.

Standard practice lately appears to be to fabricate all connections for three phase separation and dress the unit (instrumentation and bridles) for two phase operation.

Regards,

SNORGY.
